THE RENOVATION OF THE TIDAL POOL AT CASTLE SANDS
1. Project Overview “Castle Sands Forever – Preserving our pool for tides to come”
The Hamish Foundation with the support of the Bob and Blether Swimming group are undertaking a new project to renovate The Castle Sands Tidal Pool. It is a historic and much-loved community landmark that requires urgent renovation to ensure safety, accessibility, and continued enjoyment for future generations. This project seeks to raise £65,000 within 6-12 months to cover renovation costs, including structural repairs, cleaning, improved access, and safety features.
We are working with Fife Coast and Countryside Trust, Fife Council, Marine Scotland, HES to ensure we have approval and support from all the correct partners.
2. Objectives
Raise £65,000 - £85,000
Renovate and future proof the Castle Sands Tidal Pool through a collaborative plan and diverse fundraising streams.
Engage the local community and foster a sense of ownership.
Secure long-term support from individuals, businesses, and grant-making bodies.
Increase awareness of the cultural, historical, and recreational value of the tidal pool.
